After Masaru loses to Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa, which causes his robot to explode in a fiery tornado, he is seen glaring and clutching his left arm. The Monokuma Kids get out the bleachers, and appear behind him with the red part of their helmets (Representing Monokuma's evil side) glowing. Masaru's face turns blue, then the Monokuma Kids reach for him and pull him into the crowd. Multiple Monokuma Kids proceed to run forward with their hands outstretched.
It later shows Masaru being pulled into the crowd, screaming, and with his hand outstretched. Masaru's hand shakes a little before vanishing into the crowd. His headphones then pop out of the crowd, flying into the air and landing where Masaru was standing, with no trace of Masaru or the Monokuma Kids left. Komaru and Toko are left standing in shock from the execution.
Masaru's position as leader is taken over by Nagisa Shingetsu in Chapter 2. A shrine is made for Masaru by Jataro Kemuri, Kotoko Utsugi, and Monaca Towa, which remains there until the end of the game.
- Masaru's execution is similar to Leon Kuwata's execution, in terms of how they both move in their struggle to resist being dragged away to the site of the execution itself.
- It should also be noted that Masaru resembles Leon to certain extents.
