The Spotless is a term used by Monokuma during the Killing School Life/Killing School Trip/New Killing School Life in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony respectively. During a Class Trial, they are the students who have not committed a murder and they oppose the blackened student who has committed a murder and are attempting to use the Class Trial to escape.

The Spotless are all students who haven't committed a murder when participating in a Class Trial. The term was first used by Monokuma in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc after the murder of Sayaka Maizono, during Monokuma's explanation of the Class Trial. In the later games, however, Monokuma explains it right after appearing.

If the Spotless are able to determine the Blackened during the Class Trial, then only the Blackened student is Executed. However, if they pick the wrong culprit (another Spotless), then all the Spotless are executed and the Blackened can leave the playing field.

In Chapter 1 of Danganronpa, it was revealed that an accomplice to a murder does not get to graduate, thus being spotless themselves.

In Chapter 3 of Danganronpa, it was suggested that if two murders occur by separate people, then both become the Blackened and it does not count as a murder.

In Chapter 5 of Danganronpa, even though Kyoko Kirigiri/Makoto Naegi were not the true Blackened, due to the mastermind attempting to get rid of Kyoko, the Spotless were not executed and Kyoko/Makoto was executed/attempted executed instead.

In Chapter 2 of Danganronpa 2, it is suggested that the blackened doesn't count towards the body discovery announcement. In fact, during the chapter, 4 people besides the blackened saw the corpse before it was triggered.

Spoilers start here.

In Chapter 1 of Danganronpa V3, due to the motive of the chapter, the blackened could escape the school without the use of the Class Trial and letting the rest continue the killing game, however it isn't used as the blackened didn't reveal themselves.

In Chapter 3 of Danganronpa V3, it is confirmed that if there are two murders with separate killers, the Spotless have to vote for murderer of the person they found first. Only that person is considered the blackened and any other killers are still Spotless.

In Chapter 6 of Danganronpa V3, it is revealed that during Chapter 1, the Spotless voted incorrectly, but weren't punished for it, as the true blackened of that murder case was also the mastermind of the killing game, who used the confusion to continue the killing game.
