|This article is a sprite gallery for a specific character. |
It contains various sprites, ripped from the game(s) in which the character appears.
As such, please proceed with caution as some sprites contain spoilers.
Makoto only has two official half body sprites, as his sprites are only visible during Class Trials.
The following set are unofficial half body sprites, cropped from his full body sprites, in order to give Makoto a full sprite set. These sprites at a lower resolution than the previous two sprites for this reason.
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Outfit
This sprite's expression, despite Makoto wearing his Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc outfit, only appears in Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. It is the only sprite of Makoto in the game where he is not wearing a Future Foundation uniform.

These two sprites are the original art which was drawn for Makoto in his Future Foundation outfit, before the laptops screen filter was added. Although these two sprites do not appear in the game, they can be seen in the Danganronpa Another Episode artbook, and were used in promotional artwork for the game.
The following sprites appear in the Bonus Mode of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. This is the first time Makoto has a full set of official half body sprites. These sprites are cropped in a different way to the half body sprites in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc - in Danganronpa V3, the top of Makoto's ahoge and more of the lower half of his torso are visible.
The following three sprites are new expressions for Makoto, debuting in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony.
BETA & Demo
Although not shown ingame, this image appears in the Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair game assets along with Makoto's other sprites, and was likely a beta or placeholder image used during the game's development phase.
The following sprite set was used in the Japan exclusive Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Demo. The sprites in the final game underwent a few design changes from this demo stage, particularly shading. Noteably, two sprites feature a different pose and facial expression, respectively. The fullbody set includes only 11 sprites, whereas the final game had 21.
Each demo sprite is displayed here alongside its equivalent sprite from the final PSP release.
These sprites appear during the School Mode minigame while collecting resources. This mode is unlocked after completing the main game.
Makoto can be unlocked by collecting his card from the Card Death Machine. After being collected, he is a playable character in the minigames Ultimate Talent Development Plan and Despair Dungeon: Monokuma's Test.
These pixels appear when playing the Future Arc mode of the Bonus Mode board game.
On the Trial Version's main menu, there is a completely different image of Makoto, with an expression that does not appear on any of his sprites in the final game.Early Danganronpa was designed stylistically to be exclusively in black and white, with the exception of the (then red) blood. It's unknown whether this particular sprite was intended for use in a cutscene, as a backsprite during class trials, or another useage.

These images are the cut-ins that appear when Makoto correctly solves or begins a puzzle.
