Appearance

Teruteru Hanamura's mother has eyes similar to her son's, and long dark brown hair tied in a long ponytail. In her only appearance, she wears a white chef hat, a white long sleeve chef uniform and a red apron with the Hanamura's Diner symbol on the front.

Personality

Despite having almost no in-game lines, from what Teruteru has said, his mother is a kind, frail lady who tries not to be a burden on her family.

Chapter 1 - Destination Despair

At the end of the first trial, it is revealed that Teruteru has a mother who ran the Hanamura's Diner before The Tragedy happened. Before Teruteru left his mother to attend Hope's Peak Academy, Teruteru promised her he would be a successful cook and will branch out into Aoyama and Azabu. During Teruteru's time at Hope's Peak Academy, his mother was the only person who ran the diner, although she had an illness, causing her to be frail and collapse at times.

• It's currently unknown if Teruteru's mother is still alive and if her diner is still running or not.
• She has two other older children who were potential Hope's Peak Candidates: one was the "Ultimate Male Escort" and the other was the "Ultimate Female Escort".
• In the Japanese version of the game Teruteru refers to his mother as お母ちゃん Okā-chan rather than お母さん Okā-san, which is considered the most proper way for one to directly call his own mother or refer to another person's mother in Japanese. Using the "-chan" honorific instead of "-san" emphasizes the deep affection Teruteru has for his mother.
• In the English Version of the game, her apron says "Hana" in the circle and at the bottom, it says "Hanamura Diner" on it.
• Her English voice is provided by voice actress Wendee Lee, who also voices Akane Owari.
